WINNERS CHAPEL DISPUTE: ANOTHER BLACK DAY FOR OYEDEPO AS ADJEMAN
WALKS TALL |
Cold sweat ran down the spine of Bishop David Oyedepo while
George Adjeman, the presiding Bishop of Winners' Chapel Ghana,
walked out of the court premises tall and joyous with his loyal
friends, supporters family members and disciples, following the
dismissal of the suit brought against him by Living Faith World
Outreach Center, World Mission Agency and six other persons, by the
High Court of Justice sitting in Accra-Ghana. |
 |
His Lordship, Justice Kofi Akwaa, in
setting aside the suit noted that the six persons: Vera Kpeto,
Della Sowah, Christopher, Martei Markei, Samuel Ofori and
Theodore Sowah, joined as plaintiffs in the case, ‘ are
neither members of the Living Faith World Outreach Center and
World Mission Agency, nor members of the Board of Governors of
the two companies to cloth them with the authority to
prosecute this action', describing them as ‘mere busy-bodies
meddling in matters that they do not have the powers to
interfere in'. He, therefore, sustained the motion that the
aforementioned plaintiffs cannot sustain the motion and
accordingly dismissed the suit. |
With this victory, Winners' Chapel Ghana, maintains
absolute authority over the eight branches of the ministry, namely:
Tema, Ho, Takoradi, North Gold Coast, Sunayani, Tamali, Kosorivua
and Akosombo, including the Headquarters, in the precinct of Kwame
Nkrumah Circle. Bishop George Adjemann, overwhelmed by the dismissal
of the suit expressed gratitude to God for confirming His Word,
describing it as a mantle from the Most High to continue with the
good works that he has started, through Christ, who is the source of
his strength. The confident Man of God counseled his critics to be
in the spirit and acknowledge the fact that the judgment of God are
adverse to the thinking of the flesh as it is written, ‘the things
of God are foolishness unto man'.
Efforts by MST to get the reaction
of Bishop Oyedepo and his team for comments proved abortive as the
voice on the end repeatedly said that the Bishop was not available
and no one in absence was competent to speak on the matter.
Observers yearning for the right attitude of the kingdom, have
continued to condemn Bishop Oyedepo for resorting to court action
contrary to the scriptures stand on disputes. These strongly believe
that no matter the facts on the ground, if Bishop Oyedepo feels
dissatisfied or wronged, he should take it and suffer himself unto
it as the scriptures say and stay away from the court which the
saints view as unjust habitation to seek redress.
Following the disagreement, last year, between
Winners' Chapel, Ghana and Winners' Chapel International, which led
to a separation, Living Faith World Outreach Center, World Mission
Agency and six other personalities, headed to the High Court of
Justice with a 26 point objection to the actions of Winners' Chapel,
Ghana. With the judgment, which seems to justify the separation, the
wrangling, which jolted the Christendom, may have come an end. The
Ghana Chapel according to statistics, have not lost its committed
members. The upsurge has prompted the Presiding Bishop to announce
two services with effect from next month. |
